i like fiat uno's but i like my american muscle stuff with the v8 burble, so im thinking, of puting a v8 in to a uno, but is this possible ??? would i have to put the engine in the back. its just a crazy idea i wouldnt mind doing, if not could it go into a tipo ??

will be more yank than uno if you ever did.
not sure be so easy to register such a conversion.
due to length of v8 i think you'd struggle to fit one with a gearbox behind. even the audi v8 and transaxle combo is quite long.
Caddilac sevile might fit. but to be honest its a lot of work and no uno would be left.
best way would be to build up a kit car gt40 chassis, then put a mould of an uno shell on top!

It has been done. Recently there was a grass track Uno sold on Ebay that had a mid/ rear mounted V8. Went like stink apparently but not very road legal! I think one of the guys on www.Turbocollective.net bought it.
why not just put a transverse ALFA 3 litre v6 in an Uno
complete with the ALFA's gearbox + driveshafts + hubs + etc..

The Alfa V6 is totally different from the FIAT V6 (130) which is also different from the Dino V6 (Ferrari and FIAT Dinos)...

There is a Panda Mk1 with a V8 in it so theres no reason why you couldnt.
Theres also a Delta Integrale powered 4wd Lancia Y10 & I know of a standard looking Vauxhall Viva with a Jaguar 5.3 V12 under the bonnet... Anythings possible if your willing to put the work in!
A nice alternative would be an Alfa GTV/Alfetta V6 powered RWD Uno.

The Lancia Stratos replica kit cars usually have the Alfa V6 fitted, you were probably getting that mixed up... might have been after you watch Jeremy test driving one in the last Top Gear.

I have seen the Lancia Y10 'Integrale' and to be fair its actually just a Y10 body grafted onto a Delta floorpan and chassis, but still no easy feat....
The alfa v6 has been put in a few bravos and bravas, something I would like to do one day.
The Alfa V6 has been put in (the back of) a classic Panda:
