Urgently need radio code please help

I've got a second hand tape player I'm looking to fit to my punto as prefer a factory fitted one, the problem is it just displays " check " ??
The numbers are
bp nr 7641374316
Prod.nr.fiat 735 289 640
Is there a code or anything to get it working?

Hi mate and WELCOME TO THE FORUM :wave:

What punto do you have? Mk, grande etc?

"Check" normally indicates a CAN communication problem between the head unit and car. Have you checked you have plugged in ALL the cables?

Code issues will normally say "code" or "wait" on the screen.

It's a 2000 model 1.2
Just wired it with the existing plug
Powers on with ignition so presumed it would work?
The wiring plug doesn't seem to be the original one though?

Hi mate,

Do you know what Mk the radio came out of? Ie mk2 or 2b as they were different.

Also you should have a set of blue green yellow cables like these....

They should plug in at the top of the HU. check they're not tucked down the back or something.

Not sure what's going on with the wiring there is no other connector other than the black 16 pin plug? This has all been rewired, think I'll just leave it as it is as not got the original plugs. Thanks for all ur help
