Hi,

The wife wants to buy the worlds heaviest wardrobes from ikea, they way 100kgs a piece, will that kill my suspension? Am I better making 2 trips?

Heading over there at 15:30, quick replies if you can please!!

Again it's too late, but 100kg will kill your back! :p
I managed to get a 55kg, 240cm long wardrobe pack down 3 flights of stairs, but it nearly killed me!

Thanks for your replies - its was a long shot hoping that someone would be around to answer my question.

I picked up both of the wardrobes, I've got a weekend elx auto. Nearly injured myself getting them off the shelf at ikea (2 boxes for each wardrobe, one 35kg, one 65kg). Had a bit of trouble pushing the 200kg trolley to the tills, but made it to the boot of the car and loaded easily (thanks to the ingenius dropdown boot bit).

Everything fitted in a treat, car didnt even seem to notice the weight, still pulled the same, and i'd say the ride was smoother than unlaiden.

The other end was the hard bit, we're in the loft room, ended up opening the boxes and taking the wardrobes up in pieces!

Another WIN for the marea though, its really been a brilliant car thus far, cant fault it, theres nothing it cant transport.

65Kg! :nono:

Shouldn't be carrying anything over 25Kg yourself! You only get one back in your life and it's not worth killing over an Ikea wardrobe! Seem to remember reading that the drop down bumper can hold 250Kg! Wouldn't want to test that though!

Check your springs have survived.. I've heard from some owners that after carrying very heavy loads the bump stops get knocked off and rattle around inside the spring coils!
