Technical upgrade points

Hi everyone. Does anyone know if it is possible to replace the points with an electronic kit?
In the past I have found Panda piont sets to be a real weakness.
I've tried accuspark and they don't do a kit.
Any ideas.?

Hi,

Yes, the easiest way is to use the distributor and coil from a 4x4. I don't know of any aftermarket kits.

yes, my points go funny very quickly. i have to set the gap after a few hundred miles it seems.

Or a late carbed model 2wd, just got the setup from one to install in my 750L when the weather warms up (so probably new year).

Just realised that all previous suggestions relate to a 'FIRE' engine and you may be asking about the older pushrod one, so which is it you're wanting to upgrade?

No; I do have a FIRE engine so this has all been very useful.

I think I've posted this up before but can recommend these lot:

I bought a unit for mine and it's very easy to set up as it uses the original points but on a very low current which doesn't wear them out.

But if you can just switch to a later panda unit though, that's probably easier anyway. This is more useful for anyone with the 903cc OHV engine.

you can use the electronic points off the fiat uno too, that is what i am using on my panda at the moment.
