On driving home yesterday the strangest thing happened - bulges of blue smoke came forth from the console inside the cabin together with the "sweet" smell of burning plastic. Pulled over and turned the ignition off instantly. Started the car, checked all electronics and found all in order except for the lights not operating. Spend the whole evening removing the speedometer console and tracing all melted wiring - approximately 50 centimeters of burnt wire - originating from the ignition harness to .... Insulation tape did the trick, all seems to be ok for now. Damn, no blown fuse warning even - all fuses were correct and intact.
Same scenario on my first 1372cc MK2 Uno happened a good couple of years ago; not as major as yesterday's experience though. Question is: Have any other drivers experienced the same on their MK2 Uno's....
I hope FIAT has an explanation for this. (Makes me considering keeping a little fire extinguisher in the car just in case )
