mate of mine told me he drove with a bravo, lowered 4cm with special clips around the springs..

any one experience with these? Mate told me the handability was super, but i think it won't be good for the springs/shox..

cheers/thanx

Eeek! Those things are lethal! The forces required to compress the springs by that much are really quite high and if one of the clips fails it will fly off with quite some speed.

The only safe way to lower a car is with the correct length lowering springs.

Re: Re: Untitled

You sure? I guessed those things were safe: after all they are tested and approved by several organisations..

but thanks!

Re: Re: Re: Untitled

Ring them up and get the test certificate numbers and then call the test place. :)

For the sake of a bit more money proper lowering springs are much better.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Untitled

right, from a perspective of mechanics, it stresses the spring and collars far more than thye are designed for. being under constant tension at a higher rate than normal puts more stress thru the spring which could lead to premature failure which could lead to a crash or worse.....

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Untitled

lowering springs without new shox doesn't put more stress to the shox, then?

i'm a totall n00b ;)

thanx for all help here on the forum! keep up the good work

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Untitled

The stress on the shock is more a factor of car weight and driving style.

If you go REALLY low then you get the shocks bottoming out and that will damage the internals.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Untitled

thanx mate...

gonna have a chat with the man of the "low-rider" bravo and with my supplier, i'll keep in mind what was said

thanx bigtime!

cheers
