Ah well all sorted. But I'd it has nothing to do with graphics drivers IMO. Unspecified errors with completely ghey error codes are usually caused by dumb ass lazy programmers who Mega Fail at putting in comprehensive error handling sub routines.
It could be absolutely anything causing the error, Just very unlikely to be the driver(s). These driver test CD's only use the DirectDraw API (can run on a 12yr old 486 PC with a 512k Graphics card) and not the Direct3D (which is very driver orientated).
