hi guys,
you may have noticed i havent been around for a bit (or maybe you havent lol )

well despite being ill, and despite the fact im convinced that whoever converted it into a race car was determined to make everything really difficult, ive made some average to good progress on the uno, an update is coming in the next week or so.

but for the meantime,

a simple question : whats are the standard dimensions and weight of a Mk1 UT wheel? i think its 13x5.5 and at a guess about 8 kg, i need the weight more accurate than this, so if someone knows for sure, or can stick one on a set of scales that would be awsome.
thanks peeps
matt

bugger all mine have a tyre on them.......i can give you a rough idea from the similar sized lancia 13 i have? how accurate you need it?

If you want to save weight, the standard Uno steel wheels are actually lighter ;)

oh of course!

im a budding wheel whore too!
ive got my eye on one of my dads spare standard UT sets for the racer, whilst i save up for these babies: http://members.cox.net/andysink/img%20023.JPG

what do u think? (be honest)

p.s. they will be dark grey or black

p.p.s. under 5kg per wheel!

very nice, but even i would say a little too modern for the tub,

maybe i save up a bit more (a lot more) and go for these (if i could ever find a set)

and she looks cool, which as we all know, makes you faster:devil::devil:
......unlike missing the apex.........to look cool for the camera........which definately makes you slower :D:p:D

in all seriousness, that pic is amazing

first time in anger, and i just couldn't bring myself to fully commit to that corner, was carking it every time!!!!

those alloys are sweet!

honestly you would have been weeks faster than me in the seicento,

....leaving the braking ridiculosly late, trail braking and hitting all the lines....on the complete ragged edge... still pretty much everything walking past me, including, i think, a talbot sunbeam, some 70s rover, and a hillman imp?!

would love to take the racer out this year, could you keep me posted on cheapey track days? you seem to be rather good at rooting them out if i remember correctly?

theyre great arnt they, little heavier than the kosei's in the first pic, and way more expensive, but suit the car better i think.

how many sets you on now jai?

I'm hoping to get a set of these in 8,5x13 (with 225/45) on my Uno. They are availiable in lots of sizes, and are very light. I like the original Turbo wheels, but they are so narrow..

interesting.
ive seen an x1/9 with those size wheels and it looked great.
ill ahve a look into the for cost sizes etc.

possibly look a bit too curvy to suit the uno's 'angular' shape?
