Technical Uno t for speed!

Seems like a hybrid turbo! How many bar's are u running mate? n wht abt internals ? have to be after market with this setup. Loved the neat look of ur engine. Well done. Do post us ur Dyno Results and details of ur setup.

Hope it performs as good as it looks! Lovely Job.

You know what it reminds me off.......................a dolly blond bird with the most out of proportion boobs in the world!
Still boobs tho...............:D

Whats the spec of the engine mate? (PM me if you dont want to blurt it over the forum)

Im aiming for a simlier torque/HP figure with my MK2 UT

Nice work Jens... Lots of custom fabrication to your usual high standards. I remember the pics of the 1600 engine as it was coming together - must be a couple of years now! :)

Biz... "You know what it reminds me off.......................a dolly blond bird with the most out of proportion boobs in the world!" - Well put! Some guys get off on that kind of thing... but not all... :D And likewise I'm a bit worried about this giant turbo for driveability below 3000RPM!

Might be in one of those Top Gear-style drag races where the standard FIAT Stilo 1.6 out-accelerates it!

The compressor housing does look a lot narrower than most turbos?

But yeah i would like to see some video of it on the dyno!
Like the last one on Turbo Collective

hello all! It has now been dynoed to 355hp at 2.2 bar boost.
I took it for a testdrive today at the strip..
12.8 sec 197 km/h with normal tyres.. It was spinning in all gears!!:)

It has a bit lag, but then the boost come it makes up to it:)

I have set the rpm limiter to 8,500 rpm now.. and it hits there hard!:)

**** yeah jens!!!

Get in there my son!!! (y)

You must bring it over to the UK!! :D

USC Next year!!!
Surley we could sort out a "BRING JENS OVER FUND". lol

Whats the torque figure like?

Over 300 flbs??? :yum:

Love the every gear wheelspins!! hahaha

I don´t have much tourqe.. This is more like a formula1 motor:)

well i did conversion on a website from the figure i got off a site with the figures of your dyno run

355hp
367NM of torque

In flbs = 270

So you have pretty much built a top speed engine?
High rate of work being done at top end?

Still ****ing impressive non the less but i will be taking a different approach to my engine

BHP is the rate of work (torque) that is being done

The higher the RPM the less time an engine will have to produce torque, thats why you'll see most torque lines drop off rapidly (depending on engine spec) up the top end and the power line "over-takes" it.

MK1 1301cc is 147nm (103 flbs) standard.

Bottom line is that torque is what an engine produces not BHP

The world is mad on BHP but no one i know seems to research WHAT BHP actually means!!

Jens UT is doing 270 flbs at **** rpm!!! (From what figues i have seen)
Thats some serious top end pull for a 1.3!

Very true, yet there is a a saying that goes:

"Brake Horsepower sells, but torque wins races".

And someone has in their signature (can't remember who  ):

"Torque wins races and puts people in their places." :D

My little Uno FIRE? 45 bhp (WOW!) and 59 lb/ft of torque.

Also worthy of note is where in the rev range maximum torque is produced. 1.0 FIRE produces max torque at around 2750 rpm, which is where most driving takes place. That's why it is such an easy engine to drive with!
