Hello guys just wondering if there's any uno owners in the uk. I've only ever seen one uno and that's mine;) it doesn't seem a popular car.

Very few Unos left. Not a very well liked car by the general Public compared to something like the MK2 Golf which lots of people have fond memories off. I have only every met two people that were fans of the Uno. Rust is there biggest problem of course. Repair panels are starting to disappear. Loads of stuff now not available.

By the way do you have a MK1 or MK2 Uno.

I own a mk2 uno. But if I can't find a cheap gear box for it ill have to part. I've spent £450 on my little 1 litre in the past 2 months. So if I can't get cheap box I can't justify any more money:(

Yes, I understand that. It is very difficult to find parts now. Scrap cars are really non existent. I am actually trying to stock up on spare parts at the moment.

Screw lol sorry

I have a 1.0 Start, which was actually purchased for my daughter to start driving when she passed her test, still waiting for her to pass!!!
I'm using it at the moment as I wanted to make sure everything was ok with it before giving it to her, plus my BRM insurance has now ran out so that's sat on my drive, (which is up for sale once the private plate has been taken off).
I must say it's a great little car, cheap to run and the handling isn't that bad, not much power though and it's a bit scruffy.

Hi I have a Mk. 2 Start with FIRE engine bought in 2008 after I sold my SAAB 96. I find the Uno a great car to drive but have spent a lot on repairs to electronics, new head gasket ( broke down in France & spent over £1,500 to repair and repatriate it) replaced distributor, passenger door skin, 2 wheels (rust) clutch, catalyst, exhaust, brake pipes (more rust) radiator, Car has been written off by insurers and garages more times than I care to mention, currently has a dry knocking noise from front suspension, rusty driver's door bottom, rust in sills both sides so will need to spend another grand on it this coming year. What the hell, I like it and I can afford to repair it. Don't want a modern computer on wheels. Electronics on Mk. 2 Uno more trouble than it's worth. The Uno is easy and fun to drive, good power to weight ratio, so fast enough for me and very economical if you ignore the unreliability, rust and poor build quality. The Uno is a good car badly built.

I've got a mk1 G reg Uno 45 "Breeze" which I've had three years now, I think in the last 5 years I've only ever seen half a dozen Uno's on my travels.

But to be honest I've not found parts too hard to come by, admittedly I've only ever found a couple of them in the same period in a scrap yard though.

Most of the other parts I've needed I was able to get from either the forum, a motor factors, Fiat specialist, eBay, or even Fiat themselves if you find the right dealer who is willing to help :)

But come snow, floods, whatever.. the Uno has always got me around, for going to work, moving house, nights out, holidays, I even use it for Autotesting!

Not bad for a £250 car and it's great on petrol, ok maybe the Uno isn't considered as cool as a similar VW is but I'd rather have my Fiat.
That said I get a lot of positive comments, and people always point and want to ask me about it so guess they can't be that unpopular ;)

I'm sure if you go on one of those parts finder sites, have a search of eBay or maybe put a wanted add on here you'll find a gearbox for your mk2!

Bit of a long shot, chaps, but being based out in the far east at the moment, I was just wondering if anyone had come across my bright red 1986 Fiat Uno 60s 5 door reg No; C36GKO. As new condition when I last saw her in 2007.

I've got a little mk2 1.0 Just using it as a run around until i get my lada back on the road after its engine conversion. Then the uno's going on to my girlfriend for her first car, she's looking to convert it to turbo though as 45hp just isnt enough haha
