Found this site that might be of use to you:

If you like the Chevette then you should like the Firenza Droop Snoot as well. Personally I prefer the Firenza as it's a real old school coupe. Same engine as the Chevette HS by the way! I love what this guy had to say about his:

"I used to own this car (79/83). My wife was terrified of it, forcing me to sell the car."

He should've ditched the wife and kept the car ;)

You don't like Droop Snoots? Sacriledge! :shakehead

Go and look up Baby Bertha as driven by the late Gerry Marshall and then tell me you don't like them. While you're at it look up Big Bertha also driven by Gerry and that's the car I would love to have. Big Bertha was about as subtle as a fist in the face!

RWD Vauxhalls are so cool

Edit: My first car was a RWD Vauxhall! A Cavalier Mk1 1.3L

lol ok ok the big bertha looks meannn but the DTV Chevette *drools* :yum:

ah cars and car conversions, possibly THE best car mag ever printed. it died in 2003/4 just a few months after I'd discovered it. I'm still mourning :(

and chevettes, possibly the last great age of vauxhalls, those and manta's A's and B's (when was the last time you saw a manta B, and have you EVER seen a manta A on the road in the UK? (nearly bought two!, but were both the undesirable hatchbacks, WANTED A saloon/classic).

last chevette I saw got wrapped round a tree on a rally in 2006 (malcom wilson) was first SS on the first of two days of rallying :bang: so far as I know, it hasn't been repaired/back onto the UK circuit, so I assume the worst :(

i know a bloke with two who i work with both road legal, and i see a manta b around locally but hes had it for years my dad said as he once had one, i think im going to scan his pics :D
of his chevette, viva and modified manta!

I have aload of CCC mags! my uncle gave me them :) along with Revs, Redline, Max power and fastcar from the 90s

my parents first car they bought together was an imported (german) LHD opel kadett GT (? right abreviation? twas the top one) coupe, a 2dr saloon job look'd a bit like the saloon kadett/manta b type.
was black with quad headlights, gorgous. but then it was written off, by a tractor
they bought a brand new (mk3? the last good astra ran from 86-93) astra GTE 16v in two tone, black/anthracite with the ins payout. and a few years later that got nicked, so we went back to saabs

I read an article in CCC about the last remaining (known of, there was 4 inc prototypes, only1 full build for rallying) astra 4s (mk3) looked an absolute monster! wiht some fancy 4x4 hyrdroelectric system, and a heavily modifed manta 2000 engine (2.2varient I think), etc etc. I'll scan the article when I find it.
anyways I fantasicsed about that for months and months, until eventually I found a minty WHITE opel (ireland) ascona 500, bought it went to collect (from norther ireland) with a borrowed van and rented trailer, and found the 500 had been nicked (or so he said), so there was me over £250 out of pocket (fuel, trailer hire, van/beer money to pay a mate, ferry crossing for HGV sized vehicle).
hence why I now never buy a car that far away that can't drive itself. too much cost if it goes wrong and I end up empty handed :(

into fiats now for the last few years! just bought an unoT, partly because I wanted one, but partly because it costs about three times as much for an equivlent aged daihatsu charade turbo (gtti) with equal acre'ages of rust

haha cheers willie
maybe i wont get sunstrip, i might get a bad boy bonnet if you do (y) lol
and im still waiting for RM to deliver my bike parts so i can stop spending money and time and get cracking on the uno :yum:

i finally got around to painting my passenger door on sunday :D and the grille but the grille isnt great needs abit more fine sanding and some moree paint lol (y)
