where would you go about looking foe these as i think inside looks a bit bare :/ . . . .

yeah that isthe bit im after mate the bit that surrouds the gear stick and the little bit aftr thatyou mean the bit under center console that touches the floor and surrounds the gear nob?

Gav, read my first post again LOL!..
any Uno with botom shift box didn't get it. the gear linkage goes under the car so there is nothing to cover.
The late base unos (including my start) have a topshift box so need to cover the in car linkage infront of the leaver

that's odd my MK1 has

not sure if the dash and centre console are from the 88 45s shell or the 86 turbo.
either would have had a bottom shift box so I don't know.
can't remember if my base MK1s had the box under the head unit.
as for you it sounds like you'd have to replace the while centre console, from vents down.
