can some one tell me how to go about fitting underdash neon? where can i get the power from?, i dont reli wnt to rewire it straight to the battery so is there any easily get to power souces? and as well where to you screw it to? (y) thanx and when im done il post pics.

the "constant power" wire to your stereo? i presume since it's a night thing, the other option is the live from the cigarette lighter? theres 2 go there i think, one for the lighter itself and another for the surround glow, plus being in the centre makes it easier to hook into

the thing is, there isnt a fag lighter in my uno, do you know if they fitted the wires anyway? and the stereo is the one thing i didnt want to touch, because the lights on it dim with the bass. :( but i think that is the battery goin flat, as hasnt been driven for some time now.

Flashing Under Dash Neons?

Hi All,

Don’t go for a switched live if your going to use them when the engine is off!!!

For the Bosch SPI - After one click of the ignition key - The fuel system is pressurised and active. You’ll soon smell petrol – the throttle body ect. will flood and if someone flicks a cig end the wrong way.. . BOOOM. (n)

Cig lighter Live (if you have – …You just posted you don’t lol) and standard stereo Live are on the same 10A fuse – (y) Same feed and always live. –

If you have a half decent head unit that uses this standard live, and a cig lighter [you dont] you’ll prob. find the fuse blows every time you light up with loud music. Don’t fit a bigger fuse – fit a higher current wire for head unit and amps…

 What size fuse dose the neons have? - You don’t want the music and neon’s to die just when the music kicks in now…

:p Are you going to wire the neons into the Alarm too? –

Flashing Police Blue would scare most off I reckon lol.

Regards All,

i just wired mine into the lights switch, so they can only be on when its dark and my lights are on - and then ive got a secondary switch in the dash...

Red switch glows when lights are on.

But you can get the power from the constant 12v powersupply from the ciggy ligheter like turboned said...

its making me think how comlicated it is, lol.i might do it sunday if iv got time (y) and would i be able to use the light that comes on when the door opens?, but just to let you know it is broken and the bulb was on all the time so i took the bulb out, but if i fitted the neons up to there i wld fit a switch .

check the neon’s fuse - make sure its no grater then the one for the lamp circuit your wiring into.

i like that idea, might do that on mine!!
Hi Ark,

:)Glad you like that little number. The fight or flight reaction is good to trigger when no one is around...

Prob. the last thing your average car thief would be expecting – I reckon they’re mostly a bit on the thick side the ones who mess with Uno’s…

It also adds functionality to the neon's...

Regards All

Why on earth do you need an under dash neon???? You should know where the pedals are by now!!! Otherwise just drive during daylight hours... then we'll all be safe!!! :p

the wires should be there for the cigarette lighter... mine were really hard to pull forward though. the block was hidden behind the dash near the windscreen in the centre and cable tied up... also had the wires for the clock there.

(y) Yer - Just like the radio power when not fitted as standard. It's cheaper for them to fit a standard loom for things like radio and cig Lighter.

If you decide to fit front fog lights, I think you'll need an SX or Turbo loom for that lol.

;) I don’t reckon we’ll be safe with any un supervised driver who is forgetful enough to loose the peddles… :) I see where you’re coming from though…

LOL Chas.
