Evening all,
I'm currently working out how I should install my Pioneer TS-WX110A sub in my 500, but I'm running into a few problems (or nightmares!)
According to the manual it needs to be installed into the cars fusebox to a constant supply providing at least 10 amps.
I've looked at the interior fusebox behind the passenger dash and there are no free slots for a hookup. The other problem is the power wire is wired up to a loom (with remote, ground, line input ...) and the fuse holder is also moulded onto the elad, making engine bay installation seem really difficult!
I figure these could be my best options:
- Use a fusetap on an existing fused appliance at the fuse box, but what should I tap??
- Tap into the main live feed coming into the car (as advised on TA)... but how and where?
- Tap into the cigarette lighter?
- Wire directly into the battery feed, but I don't want to butcher the wiring loom getting into the engine bay and the power wiring is incredibly thin and not armoured.
I'm in a pickle, this isn't looking as simple as I thought it would be. I've installed heavier audio systems before but this is confusing me!
Anyone got any advise or good ideas?
Thanks in advance
