can anyone advise please ,i have a p reg 2.0 petrol ulysse,it has a vibration/wobble when accelerating, tracking wheel balance, wheel bearings all fine,it stops as soon as you get to cruising speed or dip the clutch, any advise would be gratefully received:bang:

it feels like the whole car is vibrating,i have tracking wheel balancing and wheel bearings checked,at first i thought it was an out of shape tyre, but not that,it is really odd,if you drive steady and dont accelerate hard its fine, but as soon as you put your foot down a bit it starts,i have read 2 other threads saying about the same thing and one guy had his gearbox re-built but he still had the wobble,

Vibration or side to side vehicle wobble under acceleration is normally driveshaft related, if the vibration gets worse the harder the throttle is pressed then this is very likely to be a driveshaft failing.

will be getting the drive shafts and engine/gearbox mounts checked next, watch this space

I'd go with engine mounts. That would figure.
Can't see how drive shafts would give that symptom they do have balance weights on them but they would vibrate trhe same under load or crusing.
Unless they are actually about to fly to pieces were the extra load is causing them to shift off center?

i've just had a reply from google i posted the question there as well,a guy that works in a fiat garage has just e-mailed me saying rear engine mounts,so i will get that checked first, let you all know if i get lucky, thanks for all advise so far. (y)

up-date . ha i've fixed it.it turned out to be the gearbox mount on top of the gearbox, its as smooth as silk now.£32.00 well spent,(y)

think it was me that had the g/box rebuilt mine:) it is still wobbling so going to try the mount you mention ,

i came on for a look because of an intermittent starter problem , sometimes you turn the key and nothing ! then you can bump start the car "if you are on a hill" and it runs fine all day starting off the key time after time ,,,, then when you need it most "nothing"(n)

i took starter out today but cant find replacement brushes listed any were , so i gave the solenoid a clean out , but would like new brushes before i fit the starter again starter is valeo D6RA66 not cheap at £ 80 reecon can anyone help

Sorry can't help on brushes but while you have it out check on the windings as well. Your looking for shorts or open circuit windings as this would also explain the dead spot.

Bought a recon one from ebay formine when it had the same problems i paid £20 + p&p £27.95 in total(y)
