My Ulysse 2.0 JTD is about to be repatriated from Germany, where it has been since it broke down in mid February during a family holiday.
I'm only getting it back because I gave in and paid the €650 (negotiated down from €900) to the main Fiat dealer (stealer seems more appropriate) in Achen for their time, and a new fuse box, trying to fault find the machine - they didn't fix it though:mad:

I need to get it to someone that actually knows what they're at when dealing with a Ulysse, either an independent or a trusted dealer would do the trick.

This is so that:

1. The machine can be properly diagnosed and fixed
2. A possible case for reclaiming the money from the German dealer (or the
recovery agency) can be investigated.

Just in case anyone has experienced the fault, the symptoms were that we left the car for a few hours and when we came back to it, it would not start. Thinking about it, the engine did sound a bit rough (tractor-like) on the drive to the place where we parked it.

The recovery guy sprayed something into the air inlet which made it start, but only so long as he continued to spray the stuff. When he stopped spraying, it stopped running.

Any help on a diagnosis or pointers to a Uylsse specialist (the closer to Aylesbury, Bucks the better - although I'm open to having transported almost anywhere so long as the place knows about the Ulysse) would be most appreciated.

[BTW - the Fiat dealer in Aylesbury (Perrys) has been worse than useless in my experience, costing me time and money by ordering the wrong parts 3 times in a row - the parts guy explaining that 'the pictures we get from Fiat are no good mate - I'd go to a Peugeot garage if I were you' after their third go!]

Thanks in anticiaption.

HI David

Garage with good reputation for the ulysse is Rockingham cars at Corby which is a fiat dealer, but some people seem to get good service from Peugeot garages.
You say engine sounded rough, has the cam belt snapped on the engine, or has bottom crank pulley disintegrated all big issue with the ulysse, Peugeot 807, Citroen C8.
Do a search on this forum about cam belt issue or try eurovan forum.

Best of luck
