General Ulysse seat cable replacements

I have recently purchased a 2004 Ulysse only to find the two seat in the back and one of the sets in the middle row do not fold forward. The cable appears the frayed and split through the outer sheathing. Is this a common fault and if so an easy part to get hold of? Might replace the black sheathing with bicycle brake cable if the original replacement is a ridiculous price and secure the end with a screw on clamp.

I've never seen any of the single captain chairs (prestigio) break like that but I have no experience with the bench seated versions.

Don't forget ebay will have loads of Ulysse's, C8's and 807's being broken - cambelts snapping every day now by the look of it!!

Cheers Fran, fixed the seat with bicycle brake cable and outer sheath cut to size and 'classic mini throttle cable clamp' at the end. Works a treat and cost approx £7 in total. Now for some spares just in case the others break.
