Hi
i have/had a problem with what i think is the sterio in the ulysse.
sometimes when you start the car there is a bleeping noise from the speaker, the only way i could get rid of it was to leave the car locked for around 10 or so minutes and it would be fine.
i have since found a way to stop it but it only work's sometimes.
the car was in the garage today (for some parts) and it said on the work sheet that they updated the firmware on the RT3 this should stop the bleep.
time will tell but has anyone came accross this before?

Thanks Darren

Hi T14086
the part it was in for were a new Multifunctional display and parking sensor module (luckily covered under warrantee).
as for the update the wife was just told it they had updated the firmware i think on the RT3 as the display comes on different but this was changed. but when i press the menu button it say's it is V5.4 (that's what it was before it went in)!

No problem

i ended up getting rid of the bleeping when i pressed the dark button, switch on engine, switch on sterio and it went away but not all the time.

I was reading the other thread's and i wish i had found this site earlier it would have saved a lot of time scratching my head.

The renewl of the display requires/needs a software installation, this would of have been done by the dealer with latest disc,V5.4 it might be but often there are subtle changes within the software.I suspect this would of cured your problem.:)

Was the parking module full of water:rolleyes:

Looks like you saved alot of cash there as multifunction display costs a fortune:eek: Sounds as if you have decent garage as most are unaware it needs software install:rolleyes:

Hi
not sure about the parking module this time around as this is the second one that has been fitted, the first had a leak from the washer jet's pipe dripping on it (herd that this was a common problem) but that did make a long beep when you selected reverse, this time around the reverse lights and parking sensor's would only work intermittingly.

as for the display it only started playing up after it was in for a fault with the airbag, they ended up getting a Fiat specialist in and he traced the fault to a repair that had been done to the car before we bought it (that's when the display started playing up), in the end they changed the wiring loom under the seats....
as for the garage knowing about the software update i am not too sure because when my wife took the car into them it was making the bleeping noise and the guy said "what the F**k is that!!! maybe he reads the forum....
LOL

The parking module as you say is common, the terminals have to be cleaned or fault can re-occur.

The Fiat specialist as you say is the only person allowed to carry out Ulysse 'split joint' repair (think theres about 8 of them) this would be authorised by Fiat upon detection of one of two possible errors.

Cant see any connection between airbag & display problem,no common connection between them at all.......french electrics:rolleyes:
