Hello, quick question. My car has 185/55-15 tyres but my dad has some 195/55-15 tyres will they go on ok?

They should go on, but will have a higher profile(though not by much), height=( /55 ) % of the width, and you will need to replace ALL tyres not just two or the ABS will have a fit.

Yes they will fit fine, you might find the car handles slightly better too

The profile is the same as your old ones at 55, its the width of the tire that is a little larger.

The profile will NOT be the same. As John202020 states (Correctly) above the 55 is a % of the width therefore although minor there will be a difference in profile. Therefore your speedometer may be effected.

The difference in actual mm of the side wall is 5.5mm which at 60mph on your speedo means your doing 61.13mph so yes its different in technical terms but not really anything to worry about.... sorry if I upset you ?
