General Tyres

Bought my marea 1.6Sx in january, had some cheap 'n chearful 185/65 14 tyres on it which I replaced with Yokohama S306's (same size), query is :

Are these tyres the right size for the car? If so what psi should they be at, my manual states only 185/60 14 but any tyre website I have found says 185/65 14!!! Any help greatly appreciated??? (Not alloys! )

the same presure as the 185/60/14 will be ok

Thanks Dave, car back end seems wobbly at speed though at pressures from manual??? Shocks are ok according to dealer??

The original tyres should be 185/65 14. 185/60 14 is a very unusual size.

Tyre pressures should be 2.1 bar front 2.3 bar rear for normal load and 2.2 front/2.5 rear when fully laden.

My Marea was all over the road unti I had the wheels balanced and the tracking done. Now it runs true. I have had to buy three new tyres though recently. The front two were knackered (because of the tracking) replaced with Pirelli, the offside rear tyre got a large nail through it which ripped the tyre (two days after I replaced the first two!). Still on Welsh roads in winter good tyres on this car is a safe bet!

As usual guys thanks for all the info, will get the tracking and balancing checked during the week and report back, also will inflate the tyres as suggested. If I can help any of you guys in return just let me know, I work as a computer/network engineer so any problems, only too glad to help. Thanks again!!

Update: Got all tyres balanced today and also got the tracking seen to, put the correct pressure in all tyres and wow! what a difference, lighter steering, great road holding, only one complaint, why the hell did Fiat stop making these great cars!!!!
