Hi, and welcome to FF, :)

on standard rims - look in the owners manual ( downloads)

175/50 -13 are on my sporting rims ( Nankang)

that's a 13 inch rim , with a tyre that's 175 width and 50% apsect ratio;)
Ouby should know more..;)

Charlie

Std Sporting size for 13" was 165/55R13
Very uncommon size, but they are still available.

175/50R13 will fit, but are 7mm smaller in diameter.

If you have the 14" rims, the std size was 175/50R14

I was running 175/60r13' on my Sporting, they were a tiny bit taller than the standard size but I had no body rubbing issues even with -40mm springs.
They are now for sale if anyone is interested, they've done approx 1000 miles and are fitted to Cinquecento Sporting alloys.

@Ouby should know more..;)
What? who? where? :confused::confused::confused:
Who woke me up? :mad:

I don't work for a tyre fitters ;) .... but get the BEST tyres you can afford. Better that than writing the car off, or you for that matter.
David C, DRSIK, & Metalguru3 have given you all the info you need.... yes, you can get different 13" sizes but go too far from original & it will make the speedo less accurate, & lessen either the acceleration or top speed (depending if you go for a smaller or larger rolling diameter).
13" wheels have a lousy choice of tyres. Yoko 539 are good in the dry, but not the best in the wet (been using them for years).
If you're going 175/50/13 there's always the Yoko A048-R (medium compound).
This is a good site for tyre comparison-

Mmmmm

Yokohama A048-R

In my dreams
and they look so good

A beautiful RS2000 was running a set last year at Curborough and the grip was phenomenal.
He was dropping his clutch visciously.

End result = broken halfshaft

They do grip rather well

A048-R.... They're only about £120 each :D
I replaced the 15" Yoko A539 on the Sei with Uniroyal Rainsport2, quieter, more controlled, & the best grip i've ever known in the wet (at least of all the tyres i've used).

Diddy, Black Circles do a 165/55/13 'Quality Choice' at £38 each, worth doing a bit of research on. Same 'Wet Grip' rating as the A539 (& the Nankang XR611 :eek:).

I agree with your thoughts on the Uniroyals
i run them as the everyday tyre on the Sei, they are well priced and i only use 155/70 x 13, they really have surprised me how good they are in the wet.
personally i find the A539's a bit better in the wet than most seem to suggest, but I am deliberately sliding the car about on the track when i'm using those so maybe thats not a comparison for social & domestic useage

Hello. I have recently bought an 03 Sporting with 14" Abarth Wheels wearing 185 x 55 tyres. I believe this will raise the gearing by about 10%. This is no problem to me as it should make the car a little more 'long legged'. I have read on here that I should have 10mm spacers on the front and indeed the wheels do rub a little on full lock. I did think that if I was going to space the front wheels I may as well space the rears as well but the spiggot? is less than 10mm meaning the wheel would be supported by the bolts rather than the hub. This sounds like a bad idea? I would also need new bolts as the existing ones are bareley long enough.

I bought this little car as a laugh, we have other cars and you must admit that a 70 year old man in a broom yellow Sporting is pretty funny!

Where is the like button when you need it? :)
