This will proabably sound like a silly question - I have put a set of alloys on my Grande Punto Active 1.2 08 - are the tyres pressures the same as with steel\normal tyres???

Look at the tyre walls, they shud indicate min and max pressues etc.

I swapped my steelies for fiat active sport 15" alloys and the pressures from both sets of tires were pretty similar. Although my steelies had michelin and the alloys had pirelli's.

I run my pressures at around 28psi.

Pirellis are pretty poor, no grip! Even compared to the michelin energy savers lol

Ive just put 4 new continentals all around, quite pricey but the ride has improved tenfold and ive got a lot more confidence in the corners! But it will take a lot more than good tires to stop the dreaded fiat body roll!

It's Toyo T1-Rs for me next.

P3000 summary:

Terrible in the wet
1st gear is pointless if trying to pull out quickly
Awful road noise

But yes, the body roll is hilarious. It's like being on a cruise ship in a bad storm.

I am going to say Toyo TR-1 are V good for a mid price tyre apart from two things.

1. Sidewalls are weak, if you do any spirited driving you will notice it a lot, struggling for lateral grip as the tyre wall deforms under pressure.
2. V shaped pattern is great when new, as wet grip from the compound combined with the ability to allow good contact patch while shifting the water. However, when they get to about 1/2 worn the ability to shift that water is really noticable! Like driving on Ice and aquaplaning on "puddles" you though would be fine.

Pirelli, I hated on my Abarth!!! I got Conti contact sport 3, by far the best tyres I have a had so far.

And yes body roll, went from a GPS T-Jet to a couresty car 1.4 16v and I felt like it would flip in every corner, that combined with the engine change made me slow lol

Yeah that was a slight complaint from a few reviews, I only did motorway driving with my old Clio derv though so didn't bother me at all, got them fitted about a month before we got almost a foot and a half of snow, and it (the tyres) coped so so well. Can't say what they're like 1/2 way through as got rid of it a few months later.

How much are the Contis?
