Currently refurbishing the twin sunroofs on my panda. They were in a very poor state and leaky. I've managed to get hold of new fabric from Italy and new roof seals from UK.

I've manufactured new metalwork to rivet the fabric to the roof and repainted all of the metal cross pieces.

The final piece in this rusty puzzle is the main piece of frame that is bolted to the roof. It's really rusty! See pic

Both front and back are just as rusty.

Has anyone got a suggestion on how to restore or replace these parts? I'm all out of good ideas.

Hi Dave

I kept some parts from an old sunroof. If they happen to be of use you are welcome to them. Don't hold your breath though as I can't recall if front or rear sunroof, and condition may be tatty too. Will have a check and let you know. Otherwise it may be a welding job I think!

Unfortunately I can't help with your rust dilemma but do you mind me asking where you sourced the seal and replacement fabric and how much it cost?

Looking at replacing mine as the seals look a bit tired and the stitching on the fabric is slowly decintergrating but wouldn't know where to even start looking for replacements

Cheers

The seals I got from this place, you can find an almost exact match I think in their catalog.

They're a few quid per meter and you need 6/7 meters I think.

The fabric was from eBay.it:

About £70 for both fabric sections.

I remade the metallic parts with rolled steel flat bar from B&Q for a few quid each one. Then painted them up in primer and satin black spray paint.

You'll need a riveting tool to fix it all back together and a drill and some HSS drill bits to remove old rivets.
