i will probally be shot for starting a turbo question and told that i am wrong but here it goes.
1st
does a 2.ol 16v turbo coupe engine fit in a 1.8hlx bravo bay? (much hassle? as i have done a few engine swaps but no fiats)
2nd
i know that this can work with some cars so i was thinking wether you could apply it to a bravo.
as some cars have turbo big bothers you can swap parts to make your car a turbo ie swapping
turbo
mainfolds
oil pipeing
coolant pipeing
ecu so that the car puts more petrol in to correct air/fuel ratio
injectors
intercooler and pipes.
so i was thinking if you went to a scrappy and got a coupe 16v ecu, injectors, turbo, intercooler snd pipes.
you could have a manifold and downpipe made up.
teeing off some coolant to go through the turbo would'nt be too hard.
Then you would need to get a relocation kit for the oil filter, so it would give room to tee of some oil for the turbo but you would need to tap it back in to the pan.
change the injectors and fit intercooler
but the problem is that i dont think the ecu would work as its for a 2.0l and not a 1.8 so it wolud tell the engine to put in to much petrol, plus there would probaly be some more wiring as its not from a bravo.
im also stuck on how would you get the air from the turbo into the intake would you need the 16v coupe intake?
anyway thats it in brief, and would be cheaper than a engine conversion and eaiser. it would be nice to have a 1.8 turbo bravo. (im mad
i know you can do it with hondas, toyota ect
anyway how much did it cost that person who fitted a coupe engine, and did he do it him self?
