Box should be fine its the same one thats used in the Astra VXR IIRC. Injectors and fuel pump are fine for upto 200bhp but past that then the injectors definately need upgrading but i dont know about the fuel pump. Clutch is easy enough to get an uprated one made if you destroy it. It does use a small turbo as standard but with remap, exhaust, FMIC and induction you should be up around 200bhp.

I don't know if you heard about it, but there's a power kit from Maragoni that's been put on a Mito 1.4T 155hp that gave it another 65hp without any remap ( as far as I know)...so i guess they should have it availabe for Bravo's two. By the way, about the remap, most of the tuning services told me they can give my 1.4T 120hp engine an extra 25hp and 35Nm....but there's only one that gives me 33hp and 80Nm!!!...do you think it's possible to give me that much torque from just a remap or do you think thre're bluffing...I mean, i whant the second choise but i'm not shure it's for real...

Bluffing. off just a remap the 1.4 T 120 wont go past 150bhp and 180lb ft of torque. They will of had to of mapped the car to get that power gain from it and combined it with a new FMIC, exhaust, injectors and maybe even a new turbo. depends on the limits of the IHI with all the above stuff done to it.

Thanks, you've helped me make up my mind about where to go for the remap(y) .

Here's a new question for you....if I whant to change the turbine with a bigger one, let's say with the one from the 150 t-jet or bigger, would I need to do anything else, beside a new softweare?

I think 200hp is a little optimistic considering the size of the engine and probably the turbo. Surely it can be done but the question here will it still be a reliable daily driver? Also you need to look at your injectors and fuel pump. My suggestion is maybe look into an intercooler and exhaust system and leave it at that or buy something with more potential like a Golf GTI.

I agree with this. You are infact wasting your money, and be careful you might want to do some proper reading on the subject as there are plenty of people who take you money and lie to you. Its very easy for rolling road operators to 'fix' results, especially if you are a bit green. I would save your money and get a standard car with more power. It's one thing to tune an old Punto with little market value but a new bravo, either leave it alone or keep it very simple. You mention £620 I mean thats a drop in the ocean, just get the exhaust and leave it alone.

Why is 200bhp a push? The abarth SS runs 190 no problems and there are people in italy pushing 260bhp out of them. Obviously this isnt with standard injectors but if you are going to tune a car then you have to expect to upgrade stuff like that. RR's can be made to give out what ever figures yes but as long as the owner is happy with the power who cares what the figures are on paper? I dont. I also dont want to save my money and buy a more powerful standard car as that was the idea with me getting this and well look how thats turned out.

Got myself in a bit of trouble...2 days ago I went to a very good tuning firm in my country to put a Unichip on my 120hp T-jet. It all went well with the installing of the device, but when it came down to remap it, it wouldn't go past 130hp. I need to mention that they had a dyno witch sad that I have 123hp and 209Nm STOCK. After that it all went down, they couldn't get past 130hp...as far as I understood, in stock version, my T-jet had 0,5 bar, witch was very sad indeed, but then they managed to bring it up to 1.4 bar with no problem except the fact that it didn't gain power....and now they say the problem is in the downpipe, they measured the boost somewhere after the turbine where it was around 0.3 bar and where normally they sad it should be a max of 0.1bar.....so I would like to know what do you think, is this the problem, is the downpipe the reason I'm not getting more power....maybe oldschool knows(y) I've made a topic about this too but got no answers yet and I'm in a bit of a hurry cuz on monday i'm off to them again....

I got 150bhp out of my 120 Tjet after mapping. Sounds like the car doesnt like the unichip. Cap you not just remap the standard ECU?

I could, but now I'm gonna let them see what they can do, the unichip is already fixed on the car and if all goes well, with it I can have 3 maps: one standard( there is no unichip perfomance), another with abit of improvement and one with max performance, plus, after I change the exaust sistem, or even the turbine i wont need a new remap on the original sofweare, just some ajustemets to the unichip unit...don't know, if it doesn't work then that's it, I'll try to remap the ECU, but aparenty that's not the problem, the exaust is( or so they say...) if you know something about the pressure inside the exaust after the turbine please do share:) ...like I said, the boost was 0.3 bar, where there should be 0.1 max...

There my graphs before and after my car was mapped. As you can see it made about 140 as standard so gained 10bhp with a map and induction as that is all the turbo can put out with standard stuff. If you replace exhaust with a freeer flowing one then you will see another 10bhp gain and more torque on it. As you can see doesnt hold on to peak boost for very long and quickly tails off.

Thank's, i think this would help a lot.....on dyno, my car got 123hp and they managed one time to reach 130hp and 229Nm, so it is a very good chance that because everything is stock the engine can't go past 10hp....i'll show them the graphs..10x again:peace:

It's all about the midrange though not the peak figures, looking at Matt's second image at about 3000RPM he has an extra 25bhp to play with. Peak figures are often at like 6000RPM and how often do you really go there compared with 3000RPM.

Plus the talkies come into play.

The torque curve is the more important one. BHP is fine but the torque drops quickly which is bad. It ideally needs to be a steadier curve go and have a look at your graphs and you should see what i mean.

I saw that part you said about 25hp at 3000rpm and yes, the torque goes down very fast after it reaches the peak....maybe Peerzy can show us his graphs?

I wouldn't let them touch the car. They shouldn't use the unichip for your engine at all.

The best way to go about is still a re-map.
