There are seperate sections on the site to talk about ICE, Bodywork, Satellite Navigation, Security etc. but there's no specific section for those that like to tune/modify their cars to swop idea's, info and show off their creations. I know many on here(myself included) consider Blue Neons and dustbin sized exhaust pipes a waste of time but many others like these things so how about we give them an area to play in, might visit it myself if some serious tuners use the area(remaps, turbo upgrades etc.). Many modifications are universal and not model specific so I think a Tuning & Modifying section would be benificial to like minded members.

Do you think the site should have a Tuning & Modifying section.

1. Yes
2. No
3. Don't Care.

I've no idea Stu but adding the Tuning prefix to a few threads would help. ;)

Here's another poor result.

Tuning prefix plus JTDm gave me just 15 results ... :(

JTDm.jpg

so what would having all JTDm threads in one section change?

so you dont have an answer then?

To be honest I can't be bothered anymore.

A tuning section here on the Fiat Forum would be nice but banging heads with Foil using moderators doesn't float my boat.

Close the thread if you like, its obvious the foil using members of this site won't allow it. Plus I don't plan on commenting in this thread again, there's no point.

Finding Tuning info here on the Fiat Forum is difficult to say the least. The fact that Fiat owners are forced to seek info on other sites is testament to that.

so how does searching one section vs the whole forum make it easier?

at the moment the arguement is pretty weak.

if you can't find a tuning thread using search, then it doesn't exist. getting rid of the prefixed won't make them magically appear.

if you mean that no one is posting them due to a lack of a dedicated forum, then you might have a point. however, you also need to remember that the tuning prefix is quite new, so its conceivable that most of the threads you are looking for are still using the 'technical' prefix.

which having a dedicated forum still won't solve....

Sorry for all the spelling mistakes, I wrote that from a phone.

I guess the main point that everyone is missing here, is that we *had* a tuning section and it didn't work. It's great that it does for AO, but that doesn't mean it would be popular here.

Tech Talk was renamed as such to make it less confusing for people.

That said, I've been going through the code for the VF - and it's not too complicated. I'm not sure I will be able to do it this week, but I'll try and get it running for the LL / OT as soon as I can - and check it really works... :)

OK I'll bite....does it really matter? Obviously there are are some on here that take things very seriously indeed:rolleyes: At the end of the day this is a car forum for Fiat owners who can exchange information in some form or another.

I'm a car enthusiast of quite a few years & I'm quite surprised how some react on here full stop. Possibly I'm as bad to a certain degree by putting my twopence worth forward;)

Most queries on here get answered one way or another. I'm on here from time to time, but some seem to spend their lives on here:D Life changes over the years & so does the way we communicate. In all honesty I'm a bit surprised at some ages as well, I thought young whipper snappers, but I was wrong about that:eek:

Get out there & live life a bit, enjoy your car, family & life in general(y) Leave the forum for a while.:D

Not at all the more people to join in with there reason for or against the better.
I like it myself you haven't picked out no one in particular and attacked their opinion or nothing, just giving your own opinion, that is good for the forum IMHO

I would like to think I'm quite a fair minded person Dave, although I can be facetious from time to time:D, but that's in spirit with the forum. You see from my angle, life's too short to get all worked up about a few words on a computer screen full stop.

Off topic, I remember a rather droll comment I once posted up on a Vauxhall forum mostly 17-21 year olds. I was practically threatened with my life:D I purchased a small diesel hack & just wanted some information, but couldn't help myself when I read some rubbish that some "yoof" had posted..... Should've known better I know:devil:

FiatForum has got (since May 2009) 2158 threads with a "Tuning" prefix

how many are prefixed tuning but with no tuning in them though?

some thing that has been over looked so far, if tuning and styling prefixes work so well how come members motors if full of threads with build projects in lost to them who don't know they are there.
MM used to be for finished stuff only, but it looks like people are using that as a tuning and styling section instead as we dont have one. so maybe all we need is that split into 2 members motors standard, members motors builds, tuned and styled
