i have a mk2 1.2 v8 and i want to tune the engine i searched for the air filters and i'll buy a K&N 57i and i want to tune my exhaust i searched that the stainless steal is good for it but i didn't find a one can any one tell me what is the best type to buy or can ask a mechanic to build a new one for me ? and i want a sport spark plugs which one i should buy ?? and is there any idea else to tune my engine more then that ?

Don't use the K & N. In that application, as a search here would have told you, it's pants! GSR for preference, Performance FIAT site to order.

There is no concievable way that changing spark plug makes will improve performance. Save your money, use NGK.

Stainless exhausts won't add anything to the peerformance of the car that a mild steel one of the same design won't. They just last longer.

You really, really, need to read a book or two on tuning.

make sure the air filter isn't fitted straight ontop of the throttle body - make sure it goes behind the battery or where there is high airflow

As most K+N filters bolt on and suck only Warm air in :(

As for ""sports"" spark plugs - they do NOTHING
Just ensure the spark plugs are clean and gapped correctly
Or buy new

If you buy new plugs - HT's are probably worth replacing too!

The 8v isn't really a ""performance"" engine, so you'll struggle to get power out of it without wacking a turbo on - Which costs money....

first thing to do is ascertain if compressions are within manufacturers spec otherwise performance will never be any good
you have to remember this engine is designed for longevity, basic workhorse duties and most importantly reliability
you should consider a 16 valve engine if you want more performance

considering that you come from eygpt too isnt there a lot of sand in the air there so good proper air filtering rather than minimum airfiltering is surely a must rather than having sandpapered bore walls?
