i want to tune my 1.6 bravo but there doesn't seem like there's really anything available for this engine, wanted to either turbo it or put individual throttle bodies on... but can't seem to find anything online at all, anyone know of any bits?

just the usual..exhaust (cat back system),induction kit (k+n or any other or perhaps a cda one) and possibly a chip (piggy) you can even buy a 421 manifold for it.Shaun managed 124bhp (iirc) out of his..some good plugs and coils will help too.

were all in the same boat mate, not much you can do to NA engines.Unless you go spending money on porting/polishin mainfold, upgrading the head, getting the flywheel lightened+balanced.
but by then you would have spent double what the car is worth for not great added bhp.

first paragraph is the norm mate :)

i've contacted angel tuning to see if they remap the 1.6 but they don't have any specs on their site for it so im guessing they don't :( i've already got an exhaust system, forced indution with enclosed carbon fibre filter, have just recently changed the spark plugs... wish there was more to do on the 1.6 engine, i'd love individual throttle bodies but it appears no-one manufactures them aha

He's had some good feedback but personally i wouldnt go for one, id spend the extra and know its been done properly

Go for that on the bay it'll add 5-8bhp and you can do it yourself plug and play so to speak, Shaun's dad did his iirc.

angel tuning just got back to me and said they can't remap the 1.6... so someone has used that chip before and it actually worked?

The ad says 5-15 bhp without a cat and with an induction kit. Personally I would expect that sort of increase with those mods anyway!

youll never get 15bhp from a chip with a cat and ind kit..12 tops! A single chip will give you around 8 like karl says.I rang MSD in blackpool and they said the same they give off 5-8 bhp.

The chip on mine was set at 8 so its guaranteed.

Id go for it mate, but thats just me lol
it has some good feedback and is a proper company by sounds of it just selling of copies. But its upto you.

Oh and its a piece off pi55 to fit,.i did mine :)

sorry jason re-read it,you might get upto 15bhp Without a cat and a good ind kit with a good supply of cold air.I doubt youd get more.

But still,de cats are ilegal as you know so even 10-12 bhp is good!

yeah but if you fit it then wanna remove it can you just take it off and everything goes back to normal?

yer its a simple plug and play mate.
i disconnected the battery for over an hour when i did mine, basically an ecu reset.
id imagine do the same to put factory chip backj in..But why would you want to do it? :)

if urs is a MK2, u cant chip it unfortunatly. all u can do is exhaust and air filter. either that or a set of cams. u can get some columbo & bariani but they are hard to come by. and manifolds are rare...

okay mate cheers, just saved me wasting £26 on that chip! aha

gutted :s

if its a mk2 then dont that have to be remapped, not chipped? i know angel tuning have said no but what if another company can do it? sure you can remap/chip just about any car with an ecu?

i think there's just no point as you won't get any gains... not to worry, im hopefully gonna do an an engine conversion with a 1.4 turbo punto gt engine as i put on the other thread :)

ull probably get the same effects from doing a hgt conversion, but if ur guna go turbo do a 16vt conversion, be more worth ur money

i might as well just buy a hgt then, not worth the money :L and im aiming for about 200 bhp which is easily got out of a 1.4 turbo, and a punto as a donor car would be much cheaper than a coupe
