trye size for 17s

Had a search and couldnt find what i needed to know.
i know i need 205/40/17 tyres for 17" alloys...but
i can get a set of 205/45/17 pirellis cheaper and easier. will these fit?
reason im unsure is my current tyres are 185/60/15 which suggests that a 45 will fit?
need to know asap or ill be ordering some toyo ts-1's (as i cant afford tr-1's)

they will fit but you may find rubbin on full lock, you may get away with it though. im guna try get 18's on a 40 or 35 on a 1.2. you can also get your arches rolled if you can find a specialist?

Or you can roll your arches yourself, you just need a detail hammer and a bag of sand
