I was at a car meeting yesterday and a guy I met said that at home he had a pair of NOS RHD tripod headlights for Fiat 500.

So... are they any good? do they take modern bulbs? Or is it just that they look 'cool'/a bit different?

Opinions welcomed before I go back to him

I must admit, I have never seen "Tripod" lights on (or even advertised for) a CLASSIC 500---did he get his 500s mixed up and mean a "Modern" 500?

Well, he said he got them originally from Middle Barton Garage and I see on MBG's website that they currently show some pictures of some 600s with tripod headlights (though not the actual lights for sale at the moment...) https://www.middlebartongarage.com/Search/?text=headlamp

... and they do list some tripod lights on this page (though out of stock): https://www.middlebartongarage.com/...ADLIGHT-RIGHT-HAND-DRIVE-CONVERSION/11578/278 - probably too big for a 500

I think that I may have misinterpreted by what is meant by "Tripod"---I was thinking of the modern lights that have 3 very small light units in the head;amp unit. I have seen the lights as shown above on 600s, but sadly, they ARE too big for the 500 which requires 138mm light units (5.4in)
