Technical Trip Computer Reset

The trip computer on my 100hp decided to reset itself the other day.

Anyone know if it does this after a set number of miles or time, or was it just a glitch? I had assumed it would just keep clocking up the miles as long s I left it.

I think it reset's itself after 100 hours of driving. Its pretty annoying at times.

Last year I was doing a pretty long trip around Scotland and was keeping an eye on my mpg then all of a sudden it reset both trip A and trip B.

I believe that they auto re-set after 4999 miles

In the hand book somewhere iirc

Page 30 of 2009 handbook;

auto resetting when trip distance reaches 3999.9km or 9999.9km deending upon display type or when trip tme reaches 99.59 (99hours and 59min).

Thanks for the replies. I thought there might be a limit on it.

It's pretty annoying that trip A and B both reset at the same time. I was keeping track of my mpg on trip B which was nowhere near the time / mileage limit.
