Hi, I sent the 2 last months many mails or pm to tricker on fiatforum and no answer.:bang:
I also put a thread in wanted parts, no answer.
I want a 43mm tb for 1242 8v mpi p75 engine.
Anybody else on the forum can make me one (38mm tb bored out 43mm with spacer and new butterfly) ?
Or, Is anybody willing to sell me an old one ?;)
Thanks

what do you mean by sleeved? mines been bored out to its max (metal is like 1mm all way around) and a new butterfly on top

is your the punto 75 one? not sure on the 60 (40mm) one but the 75 (43mm) as original dont have enough meat to bore out. so has the lot removed the a sleeve fitted which is then bored to the 43mm

I want a punto 60 TB bored out to 40mm,

Can i get an engineernig firm to just bore the center out with a lathe and then fit a 40mm butterfly valve in its place?

surely that would cost less than £120, i'm getting a 1242 punto 60 engine for £100 and the Throttle body is getting thrown in.

I'm going to fit the punto 1242 to my Uno and have the 866 punto 75 cam fitted to my 999cc engine already, so i'll fit the 1.2 engine then fit the TB if i can get it bored out and then fit the 866 cam and use the distributor off of my uno so that i can keep my ignition setup and can advance the timing :D

Should have a bit more power for a few little mods and won't cost more than £300 as i can do the engine conversion at work :slayer:

Apperently sleeves are fitted on the punto 75 TB's and are bored out on others.

In theory i don't see why this wouldn't work, bore the original body out to 40mm or what ever size you want and then get a blank 40mm butterfly valve or make your own using sheet steel or other light metals.

Flatten the platform/rod the butterfly valve mounts on, as i imagine it is flat where visible but goes round when in the wall of the TB, so with the excess material taken off there won't be enough flat area to mount the new butterfly valve onto. Did that make any sense? lol

Sorry i double posted but i couldn't upload this picture when in the edit settings so had to post again.

This picture shows what i mean about the butterfly valve seat, as the excess material will have been removed from the throttle body the valve seat/rod will be exposed and won't allow for a larger butterfly valve to be seated so this will have to be flattened.

After all of the work has been caried out then the bore will be polished, the butterfly valve will be over sized so that it can be precisionly fettled and be fitted correctly.

This is all theory and most of this probably won't work when i come to doing it myself.

If anyone has any information i would be very grateful, thank you

Dan

Oh right, can you sugust other fire engined cars with SPI and a larger bore than the uno and punto 60 which would work?

Or if anyone has an old one there willing to sell or take photos of so that i can replicate it?

Thanks
Dan

Some have used the 36(?) TB out of Pugs. Make sure you get an Italian one, rather than Bosch. A search should find posts by alanhelen (Martin) and others on this.

Last time I heard, Tricker as having problems getting hold of TBs. Remember, it's very much a sideline for him and -- as others have found out -- much trickier to do than it originally seems.

OH right, :D

I've PMed Tricker now and then looked through these threads lol. thanks for the links :worship:

It looks easy to port the 75 TB and get the spacer cut down 20mm, I reckon thats the way i'm going to go when i fit the 1.2 to my Uno, and i'll also be fitting my 866 75 cam too.

So what bhp do you think the engine will be putting out with these mods? 1242 punto 60 engine, 866 punto 75 cam and a punto 75 TB bored out to mount a punto 60 spi unit.

Thanks

how are you going to get fuel?

youll need the inlet also

Is it not better to use the Uno 45 inlet manifold as others have suggested and just port the inlet to the width of the punto 75 spacer.

What do you mean get fuel?

My uno already has an electric pump so i don't need a cam lobe to pump the fuel if that is what you meant?

and if you mean the pump will not provide enough pressure then i'll just get a fuel pump that will match the original 1242 pump or get a higher powered one, shouldn't be a problem as i'm going to keep the Single Point Injection.

If i haven't understood what you meant then can you please explain :D

The Uno that i have is a K reg 1992 Mk2 999cc

Thanks
Dan
