Can some one tell me where I can find a good transmission manual for a 1997 two wheel drive panda?

Can someone tell me how this electric torque converter works?

I am not sure about the transmission model. I am here in Japan where I don`t speak the language. They tell me the vehicle is a 1997 year model.

Would you happen to know how I can figure out the year and engine size. Where is the ID number located?

The removed the transmission and found the torque converter is electric. Other then that it looks like a regular trasaxle with kick down cable, eletronic speed sensor at the speedometer cable. The transmission is made in Japan. But no parts avalable here. Thank you for your help!

engine number is above water pump (if FIRE engine)
engine model is on metal plate stick to internal wing (left hand side of engine bay)

Engine will be 1108cc,

Subaru used the same ECVT system on one of the Justy's. Gearboxes were manufactured by Fuji Heavy Industries ( Subaru ) for Fiat.

Clutch is not torque converter as such, it is an electro magnetic " powder " clutch.

Know nothing of the spares situation there in Japan but normally order spares using the VIN on the plate inside the wing ( as previously stated )
This is the number starting ZFA141AOO ********

Good luck.

Jon, thank you very much for your help. This information extremely helpful. I will work on it tomorrow.

I remove and disasemble the transmission. I found a bolt that came off a gear retainer. I install a new bolt reassemble the transmission and reinstall. To my surprise the noise is still there.......... I did not dissasemble the whole transmission because I don`t have a complete manual. I need a guide that shows how to remove the gears and in what order to reassemble. Can some one help Please.........

If you find such a guide, I for one would be very interested to hear of it.
Rgds.
