Hi there,
I had to replace one earlier this year - NSF outer i.e. next to front wheel.
Basically, I bought one off ebay for ~£10. Undid the two locking nuts (remove one and back off one on the track rod v. slightly). Then popped the whole track rod end out of the tapered joint. This is normally the bit that may require a splitter etc but mine just came out in my hand.
To replace it is basically the reverse of the above - literally only took 10 mins - I spent longer getting the jack/axle stands/spanners etc out. I then had the tracking checked and adjusted straight away as it will need doing and the tyres will wear away very quickly if not set correctly.
cheers
Mark
