Damn it's freezing!

okay so my engine management light has come on again, on my fiat bravo 1.4L 120 tjet Y2010

I purchased an odb2 fault reader and it gave me the following fault codes

P0121
P0221
P1688?

Now doing some research it seems the faults are around the Throttle Position Sensor (TPS).

Symptoms of the car include:

  • Idle RPM under 1000rpm, normally was 1000rpm (more like 500rpm)
    Lack of acceleration (sluggish)
Limp mode (rare) - car will sometimes go in limp mode when changing into 2nd gear as the rpms drop
    Poor fuel economy

Now i took the car to the garage a couple months ago when the EML came on and the mechanic said it was a problem with "clogged" fuel injectors. He replaced them. It worked fine for a couple of weeks then the problem came back. This cost me almost £300

Ive been reading on the forums and people have said the TPS error codes sometimes may be linked to the Pedal Sensor and getting the pedal sensor replaced.

Now my questions are:

1/ Where is the TPS located?
2/ Is it worth checking the MAP sensor as well or would this have thrown another error code?
3/ Should i buy a new TPS and fit it myself?
4/ Should i replace the entire pedal arm?
5/ Could it be the "clogged injectors again"?

needs proper diagnosis.
The TPS is built into the throttle body, and is expensive to replace ...just on a hunch.

The TPS can be and should be checked on a proper interface with graphs, as well as DVM.

The accelerator sensor means replacing the entire pedal... but first check wires.
Earth, power and signal cables need to be checked... they can fail due to corrosion/ rodents.

Using mes you can check for full throttle actuation. A basic code reader is like looking for a needle in a hay stack
