Technical Towbar/Elecrics problem

Hi
yes my mate also wanted a laugh !

The '2 way bypass relay' (sorry forgot the word bypass!) came with the PCT towbar ( it came with 12N electrics - whatever they are !). I only have the one plusg on tha back of the car - for the lights etc.

Not sure about the brakes - but I've got lithium grease that I use on my bikes so I'll use that before we set off.

Hi
I guess they fitted what came with the kit towbar..........anyhows - I've been for an extended (30 mile !) this eveing and the electrics seem ok (no fuse blown) - I made sure everything in the forward locker was secure so it didn't move.

I'm taking a supply of 10A fuses just in case..........

Put the camper up thsi afternoon - on the drive............very easy - even in the strong winds we've had. But stopped short at putting up the awning.

Thanks for your help.

If yopu thinkl of anymore tipbist before I go away I'd be grateful !

Thanks
Steve

Hi Andy,
quick Q - if I may ?

The 2 French campsites say that the electric hook-up is 'European Std' (but don't say exactly what that is ! Woudl this be the UK blue /blue cables

euro std means 230vAC and the site socket outlet takes the round blue 3 pin plug that your caravan will already have on the end of its mains cable.

Hi thanks
as they using European Std connector is it likely that the electric will have reversed polarity ? (I have biought a polarity tester).

Where can I get a lead to reverse the polarity ?

no need for a reverse polarity lead just swap the brown and blue wire in your blue plug (at 1 end)

and jug some campsites in France still use the old 2 pin plug they haven't all been brought up to the current blue plug set up

i'd take one just in case IIRC spain use the same plug it complies with EEC directives / regulations as do our Uk 13 amp domestic socket does FWIW
