Hello all. I know it is a stupid question but what top speed can you expect with different engines like 500cc, 126 600cc and 126 650cc.

The reason that I am asking is that I am trying to find out which engine my car has. It has the engine number removed but is for sure a 126 engine and for the moment I am to lacy to remove the cylinder head to measure. That's for the winter.

My car is a 1969 500l with some kind of 126 engine and 126 gear box. It does 116km/h true/GPS speed, and indicates 133km/h at the speedo. That is 72mph true/GPS speed and 83mpf indicated speed. I tried on a flat high way in both directions (no wind effect). What do you guys think. Do I have a 600 or a 650 engine.

You can't tell by the top speed... Pretty impressive performance tho :p

Pics of your engine?

P.S. I have a video on YouTube going for top speed and 0-60 in my 500 with the original 110F engine!

She is a rocket ship but I am not sure that like to drive flat out. Its a bit of steering backlash so she is everything except for precise in the steering at the moment and she is a bit loose at those speeds.

For pictures of the engine. I don't know how to upload pictures here but it is not much to see. Very old and ugly looking with and alternator (not generator), starter on the right side (aft looking forward) and a 28mm carb. The engine is in urgent need of some cosmetic upgrade but she runs like a dream.

Jocke.
