is it worth using a k & n replacement filter, if so any idea of cost, not really intrested in noise or boy racer speed, just ..... better parts
if i wanted a piper cross induction kit what would i have to do if they dont make one ?? i like the filter
;)

No point using a K&N. If you are not interested in the noise then why not get a pipercross filter element for the stock filter box? About £40 I think.

Re: Re: >>> TOM

just tossing idea's about, if a replacement filter is about 40 beer tokens then i may be better just getting a induction kit for the extra ?? i'm just throwing idea's about at the mo

Re: Re: Re: >>> TOM

An induction kit will be noisy but no real increase in power, the filter element will not be noisy with equal lack of power increase. :)

Re: Re: Re: Re: >>> TOM

Just thought a k & n replacement would be a good replacement for standard, i'm not really keen on a induction kit, i know they make no real difference and your petrol comsumption goes up a wee bit, a few of the 'boy racers' have them on there little corsa's and things and they just make a lot of noise (sounds shite when you overtake them at 30mph) if i did change to the k & n replacement would i still need to diss the battery or drive about taking it easy for the ECU to set itself up

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: >>> TOM

Your MPG does not get worse with an induction kit, thats urban myth. It gets worse cos you drive everywhere foot flat to get the loud noise.

Get the piperx replacement filter, its better at filtering than the K&N or paper. A K&N induction kit will still be very loud.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: >>> TOM

your a wise man tom, so i will make a few enquires about a piper cross replacement filter,i just whip out old filter and put in new piper cross one yeah (i defo dont want a induction kit now,for sure), also where do i stand with the ECU, do i need to diss the battery or just drive around real easy and it will set itself up ¿
i know my questions might seem a little crap, i used to have no problems modifying my fireblade, but this car business is a wee bit different, ;)

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: >>> TOM

Do nothing to the ECU, the change to the engine will be minimal. Even if you do decide to disconnect the battery overnight, don't drive any different after, just drive normally.

dear Tom,

I think you are bias towards the K&N, on a injection system. sorry for being blunt, but it only as to what i have read in the post on air filter.
please dont take offence to my oponion.

I have a K&N 57i and very happy with it.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: >>> TOM

I know I am biased away from K&N, I've used them in the past and do not feel they filter as well as other makes.
