Tom.. (Temperature Guage)

I've just aquired my 1.2 80SX and I noticed the temp guage stays at halfway no matter what. - This is the first Fiat i've had that has done this.

So I guess my conclusion to the temperature guage fluctuating is that both of them are correct. It just depends on what car you have.

Anything more than halfway means there's a problem then. (except for a tiny bit over the halfway mark)

Yup

I have a 1.2 sx 2001 y plate - half way no further really - part form in the middle of summer my guadge went funny - kept jumping up to full 4 a few secs then down egen - not affecting temp just the guage - weird - any ideas any1 - i didnt think it was thermostat cuz it dint matter what the engine temp was!

After doing the stat on my 1.6 the guage has sat exactly half way ever since, either motorway or town.
