...I've bought a dinky little 126 BIS! Must be loosing it! Here are a few pictures before I've done anything to her, if i get a chance, she needs polishing as the Red paint is faded a little on the roof/bonnet etc. Not in bad nick though is she for a 21 year old! I was 2 years old when this was made! Only done 16000 miles, less than i've done in the Abarth...

It's such a funny car, so small, my size 14's cover all 3 pedals at once! Just needs taxing/insuring now, but i might keep her in a garage until next summer maybe...

I love your dog he or she reminds me of our late lurcher larry and the 126 is great this was my wife's 1st car in imola blue, great picture with the 500 and to think the old 500 was the same size as the 126 im sure they will be great company for each other, ps consider yourself very fortunate to be a owner of the 500 abarth i was once a proud owner of a strada 130tc abarth back in 1986 and i hope 1 day will also have a 500 but will have to make do with my seicento schumacher for now... great pics well done..

I test drove one of these once and it was so tiny - I could hardly fit and I was only 5'10". And the handling was 'interesting'.

Looks like yours in very nice condition though

Jay-sus you've lost the plot there! ;) :D

However, I'm oddly jealous. Looks in good nick too (y)

Edit: 1989. A good year! ;)

Foxy is a she, and she's a 12 year old Welsh short haired Border Collie! Nice little story you have there! And the Abarth 500 is a sweet little car too, i do feel lucky to own one, but there are things you have that i want i'm sure! (y)

Very nice!
Does the BIS have the same deal with the accelerator pedal where it's right up against the wheel arch? And backwards? I miss my 126 :(
I think so, there's hardly any room in the footwell, it's hilarious! Size 14's, think i'm going to have to drive her barefoot! :p

It's tiny!!!! But very cute :) Can't believe that the 500 looks quite big next to it!
I agree, always thought the 500 was a small car, it's actually rather large!

I'm 6ft, headroom is fine, foot/leg room is a joke, but it's drivable! As for the handling, i've not driven her very far, not expecting it to be as good as the Abarths! :)

Re: To keep the Abarth 500 company...

So spent most of the weekend bringing the paint up. It's miles better than it was, but there is still some fade on the bonnet/roof which needs tackling. Tried T-cut followed by polish 2 or 3 times now, so think i need something a little stronger! Anyway, here she is all polished up, tyre trim and all! (y)

Not bad for a 21 year old Fiat! All the paint and panels seem original, still haven't found any rust or filler luckily! Seems she is 100% original and genuine, although i'll probably find something soon that will tell tales! Love the noise she makes as the straight 2 fire into action! BRRRRRRRRR! :D

Driving barefoot is so much better than in shoes, especially when its hot with cold air blowing on them or when its cold and hot air blowing on them

In the 126 I should imagine you feel everything through the pedal so it would be even better!

We'll see how long that lasts once a few of the usual issues start to make an appearance.
Care to enlighten me!? :(

I used to drive bare foot all the time, will size 14 feet it was more practical, however the brakes on the 126 are all drums and require a lot more pressure, so i'll be leaving my shoes on i think! :)
