Technical Timing Mark

good day once again my good people in the house please their is a lock free pin that protrude from the timing gear teeth that water pump pulley hooked with in Fiat ducato 2.8idtd, that pin has broken and up till this moment I am unable to remove it please will the engine work fine without it, I mean will the water pump and alternator work fine without it, will the pulley stay lock with crankshaft without the pin,thanks
