Renewal quote came through for the Bravo so I thought I'd give Chris Knott and Prestige a try.
Tried Chris Knott four times today and after all the button pressing to get to quotes I can never get beyond waiting with two in front however long I stay on line - once for 15 minutes!
Prestige answer within a couple of rings but only to be hit with music-no info despite advertising their priority in answering calls. Gave up after 5 minutes; the music beat me.
Renew with esure, I guess, as they are cheaper than any comparison sites and they answer their phone!
Shame, I really wanted to support the traders on this site.

Thanks for the suggestion.
Yes, I have shopped around and the cheapest I found was £45 more than esure quoted for renewal. On phoning esure they added free NCB protection if I renewed with them.
For the money Aviva and Churchill amongst others want just for the Bravo I can get that and my wife's Zafira covered with esure.
Incidentally the renewal quote from esure was £50 less than they quoted me via comparison sites for the same cover.

But then again Aviva for example offer a market leading level of cover, so you're paying more but also getting a lot more.

I suppose it all depends what you want from insurance as to if you can justify the additional cost with another company, but defaqto helps to show how different some companies are and goes to justify in some cases why some charge more than others.

LV was cheapest for me for the 2nd year running. i dont know if aviva have upped their game since the name change but when they was norwich union they were crap when claiming.

Seem to have upped their game in the last 3-4 years.

Even put reviews on their website now, and include the bad ones.

Hi,
Please feel free to give us a try if you like. If you wanted to PM me your details I'd be happy to arrange for one of my quotes team to give you a call back.
Regards,
Dan.

Got through to Chris Knott this morning. Very helpful but unable to get anywhere near my renewal quote - around double. Advised to renew with existing insurer and not waste time ringing around.
Following MEP's link I looked at the Defaqto rating and esure are 5 star for car insurance despite some grim comments elsewhere! A lot of their 5 star rated insurers could be dismissed if you look on the web for reviews. I guess service levels vary where-ever.

Just spoken with Adrian Flux insurers who did beat my renewal price but never asked what the lowest quote I had was, they did however beat the crazy price of £8,559.99 I was quoted by one company. You gotta love renewal times (y)

Next is Chris Knott

It is indeed, I don't understand how one company wants to charge me over 8k :bang: when I have a quote from ChrisKnottIns for £225 (y)

I know where my money will end up

Different risk data and pricing. If everyone were the same price there would be no competition - scary if they all wanted £8k
