ticking which came and went?

got in my car earlier today. drove less than half a mile and noticed a ticking noise. it increased in speed when the engine rev'd. pulled over opened the bonnet seemed to be coming from the engine block near cylinder 4. got back in and drove it to a garage but before i got there (1mile) it had stopped so i didn't bother. this isn't the sort of ticking u get from a cold engine more like an old mk3 fiesta's tappets but less rapid. any ideas this has happened before i thought i could get it to the garage this time before its stopped but no luck. any idea peep's?

im gettin this in my 1.4 .. but i belive its just my injector makin silly noises ...but i hardly notice it now .. exzaust takes over the sound of everythin! ...bleedin thing ..nice n loud innit MR AL

yeah this is on a 1.4 too. i've got a phat exhaust and induction kit but doesn't mean the problem isnt there. i don't think its the injector that makes a fairly rapid clicking noise but not very loud. its sound pretty horrible when it does make the noise

yer it does sound abit bad .. i hardly pay any attention to it any more cause if it was an injector problem surely the light would come on... so im assuming its nuffin
