hey i've being having problems with my 1.2 brava sx year 2000, it either cuts out or over revs when idle. i brought it to a fiat dealer and he said i needed a new throttle body and potentiometer which cost about €1000-00 inc. fitting.
does anybody out there know where i can get these parts cheap??
i've tried local scrap yards and parts stores but they either dont have any available or say i can only get them from fait.
any help would be very helpful, thank u.

mark. :bang:

this is a common problem on the 1.2. usually you dont need a new part, just get the old one reprogrammed. using the fiat examiner machine you can teach the ecu the throttle position sensor's (potentiometer) range.

a fiat dealer will always say you need a new part, thats their standard response. spit in their eyes and tell them they have a choice- they reprogram your throttle positon sensor or you go somewhere that will.

1000euros is expensive for the work even if they replaced the parts. if you got a part from a scrapyard it wont fix the problem, the examiner machine is needed to program it into the ecu.
