Got bored had a bit of 4mm ally sheet kicking about bent shaped and cut this, cut off the old rotten sheet steel, and made my own cover for the front bash plate

I think you are going to have some problems with anodic corrosion once water gets between the steel and ally…

Well if it lasts 5 years it will probably out live the original one
And it will be the ally that suffers, so just do it again!

Well the ally was a bit of offcut kicking around in my workshop, it was free so already ticked one boxAnd it will be the ally that suffers, so just do it again!
