Just a bit of help here guys

When I get off my ass and get some components in my car ill be running a 3rd amplifier.

I have 4 gauge cable feeding two amps in the boot, and with my 3rd I want ta small one to fit under my seat to power comps. shouls I run a second power feed of standard amp cable from battery into the amp with an inline fuse ?

why not just split the power wire you got already, a distribution block arent that expensive

i aint got my head around 'guage' yet, so if you running 3 amps then it might be better to uprate the whole lot

insert i dizzy cap by the glove box where your cables come from the engine bay,and run the seperate live cable behind console and under your seat, upgrade your live cable as your gonna need to carry more power than before and you should be fine! :D

to keep things simple, run a second power wire to a guage that matches the amps requirements. That way if you decide to move the amp to a different location, you'll have to remutialte the current wire again... Plus, the current may be up to powering the current demands, but maybe not with the 3rd - in which case all would have to be upgraded...

By installing a second wire, there is effectively more work to start with, but then its more cost effective and practical IMO. As you said, just remember your inline fuse!

Just as a side note, have you uprated your grounding wire from the car body to your battery yet?

And gaz - Guage is the size of the wire... The smaller the number, the thicker the cable :)

Cheers fore this response guys.

I already have my 4 Gauge wire Split via a fuse in the boot, Would it be ok to split the incoming wire at the glove box end and use that for the amplifier?

So I have two splitters on the same single power cable ?

Its either that or just running another power lead as ICE said yeah.

My earthing is from directly on the battery to the ground plate it sits on. I have taken the plate off and cleaned it , and cleaned the contacts on the battery tray etc.

Seems fine, Never had a grounding problem before etc.

I think may just be better to run a new cable from battery to third amp via a fuse.
