As said above i want to fit a pair of 8" Subs in the rear panels of my Bravo...i can then get some space back in my boot...(My Sub/Box & Amp are still for sale)

I've had the panels off and there is plenty of room, although depth maybe an issue with some Subs...

If anyone has seen behind these panels, there is just a huge space in the middle...

I need some ideas on how i can fix the subs to something, and how can i make the space into an enclosure...I will obviously have to do some seriously sound deadening with the area, as there is alot of play in the rear wings without a Sub pumping air onto them...

So come on guys...some ideas please...:)

How much depth? There are quite a few 8" that would suit.

Your main issue would be stiffening the trim panels.

seeing as you have recovered your entire car why not re-build the center of the trim panel with MDF. Then you can make it mice and stiff and it would be fairly easy to do! you could even fibreglass teh panel to stiffen it. Infact if you fibreglasssed some timber to the car you could screw the panel to the car making it really stiff.

Hmmm, locky you have the big engine, it'll need it to move ;)

Re: MDF?

I thought about MDF'ing the centre section of the panels, but i think the whole panel would move to much...?

I've been doing some drawings, and i think my best bet would be to get some MDF, cut the hole for the sub, and bond a sheet over the gap...maybe MDF the center of the trim aswell, and screw them both together...

This still leaves me with how do i get an enclosure for the sub in there...

Re: Re: MDF?

Maybe you need to come down one weekend. :)

Depending on the sub used you probably won't need to make an enclosure as such.
