General Thermostat Housing 2.8D

Trying to source a replacement thermostat housing for a 2002 2.8D Ducato which cracked when attempting to replace Temp sensor. Have already tried various online parts suppliers, ebay and my local Fiat dealer with no luck. Would really appreciate any ideas others may have regarding any likely sources or if any other vehicle thermostat housing would fit. Mechanic friend has offered to repair crack with JB Weld as a last resort - anyone tried this stuff before??

I have used JB Weld before, as far as I can tell it is a high-temperature epoxy filled with fine iron filings. I have certainly found it quite strong, but your job is asking quite a lot of it. Success will depend on getting the metal surfaces really clean - you might have to "vee" them out with a grinder. You may be better off using a specialist welder from the car restoration world. Whereabouts are you in the country ?

If its a 94-02 model 2.8D the housing I think is the same as the 2.8jtd 02-06 so should be easy enough to find in a scrap yard. Should be easy enough to find someone to braze it though - as any motorcycle repair place for a recommendation people are forever coming off bikes and breaking castings like that.
