Hi I have a '98 20V HLX 72K on clock, recently it appears the thermostat is malfunctioning. It's slow to come up to temp, however heat is available inside(non-aircon). Curiously there is also a loud metallic click when pulling away from start, i think it's accelerator related. It can also be heard when overunning to stop at a junction etc.
It is a single click as if a valve or spring is trying to engage.
Car runs fine apart from notchy 3rd, accelerates well etc. average 300miles to a tank.
Any ideas?
