Re: Thermostat Paper Gasket

it should only go one way, don't over tighten bolts, if you strip the thread out of the holes its loads of hassle

Do u have a pic? lol

I attached it with the words on it up the right way. Mad in france or something like that

Re: Thermostat Paper Gasket

there be a notch on it, that should line up with a cut out on the end of your hose

Cheers Dave. Yeah ive lined that up ok so I definitely have it on the right way. Thanks

Sorry Dave but should the notch thing go to the bottom or the top then ie when bolting to the engine block. Please answer me as soon as you can. Im taking a half day in work at 1pm to go home and fix it. Cheers (y)

Re: Thermostat Paper Gasket

i must be too late then i been all day sorry

Hi Dave, Sorry havent got round to doing it yet but doing it this morning.

Could you give me an answer please? (y)

Revive this old thread rather than starting a new one.
Guess What I have done ........ snapped the rear bolt for the thermostat. I don't think there is enough to grip to get it out.

Car starting to p*ss me off now ..... is obvious person before me had a bullish mechanic - just about everything is over tight.
Stripped the threads replacing rocker gasket last week - at least with that I can use a nut and bolt!

Got one somewhere .......... issue is going to be space to get at it I think.........

Will have a decent look tomorrow or day after ......... when I have found the extractor....

Will have to get couple more bolts anyway from scrappy.
